Fingerknitting September 2, 2010

Elle has learned how to fingerknit and she is really happy about it–can you tell?

Ever since learning on Tuesday, she has spent several hours in various locations contentedly knitting.  The first couple hours were full of her excitedly chatting while knitting and grinning from ear to ear.  “I just can’t stop smiling, mom, because I’m so happy that I can knit!”

I think it is reasonable to expect that if you have a birthday coming up, you will probably be receiving a ‘scarf’ from her.

Maceo already got his.

Yay for having another knitter in the house!

This could prove to be a pretty busy week as we prepare for Papa’s and L’s Birthdays!  Also have a lot of baking/cooking to do….should be fun for all of us!  These are the major projects the girls will be working on…

  • Monday–Making, decorating and mailing all birthday invitations. Planning Papa’s bday cake and picking up ingredients for it. Help clean out the fish tank. Work on some thank you notes for christmas gifts.

  • Tuesday–Cousin B comes over! Make, bake and paint salt dough as trial run for bday party.

  • Wednesday–Library day. Story time and bringing home books about Japan and whatever else looks good to the girls. Indoor playground time at Community Center.

  • Thursday–Cousin B comes over! Computer reading program.

  • Friday–Baking and Cooking day. Help me make 5(!!) tofu pot pies from scratch. Help me make birthday cake for Papa.
